just me in my garden

Join me on a journey in my garden. Discover plants, & their uses. I love being outside with seeds, soil & wildlife. I plant very much with wildlife  in mind, many of my plants have additional points of interest other than simply being aesthetically pleasing. I'm a firm believer in the benefits to our physical & emotional well-being gardening can bring about. I'm autistic & love the freedom & creativity my garden allows. I hope you enjoy my site & find the tips, stories, & resources enrich your gardening experience.

I have recently started to build this website & blog, many pages are still under development.

My aim is to provide myself & you with a place of refence, inspiration & organisation to help develop understanding of plants, their benefits & their uses: not only to us, but to the animals we share them with. I am a firm believer in planting for pollinators.

The plants here are all plants I grow in my own garden unless otherwise stated (which will be very rare, as that is where you will usually find me!).

I have had a deep fascination & love of plants since around the age 5 when I first noticed a Mesembryanthemum closing it's petals when it became shaded from the sunlight.

Nearly 50 years later, my passion has not waned in the slightest - ever - plants have been a lifelong teacher, companion & friend. They have given me much solace & it is wonderful to see that gardening is getting the acknowledgement it deserves for the benefits to people's emotional & physical well-being.

Please check in regularly whilst I'm still busy updating this (when my hands are clean enough for the keyboard lol!)

I'd love to hear back from you on any posts that resonate or about plants that you've grown or like.

Mel
