💚Lily Mystery Dream💚

Anyone who follows me already knows I have a weakness for green flowers, & this perennial Asiatic lily which has the form of an artichoke is certainly no exception.

Mystery Dream grows to about 60cm, smells delightful & pulls in the pollinators with that beautiful fragrance. Yet it doesn’t stop there…

The maroon streaks & the speckles (that are reminiscent of a kiwi) make it even more adorable but it also is known for its double bloom. As usual I’m too excited and too impatient to wait to show you, so you’ve just got it at single bloom stage, but others I’ve seen, then erupt a second flower from the centre of this flower! It’s great for cut flowers if you’re doing the ‘grownnotflown’ & like flowers for gifting or in the home.

Another one that is hardy, but looks quite exotic, I bought this one from Farmer Gracy. I’ll be honest, I like their stock (I bought 17 different types of plants / bulbs from them in May), but don’t use them much - I know they have a warehouse in Leeds so that makes me feel better - but as far as customer service goes, I think there are much better bulb places out there, I would much rather use Boston Bulbs in Lincolnshire as my favourite bulb grower, then Harts bulbs or Petrichor if necessary. I’m expecting a delivery from Boston Bulbs in the near future which I’m looking forward to. It’s great when you can drive by a growers & see the bulbs growing.

What do you think of Mystery Dream? I’d love to know…
